56-year-old NBA agent Dan Fegan died in a car crash involving his car and a transit bus Sunday near Aspen, Colorado. A roaring fork transportation Authority bus and Fegan’s car collided when Fegan tried to merge onto Highway 82, according to Colorado State Trooper Gabe Easton.
Two passengers in Fegan’s car, his 5-year-old son and a 29-year-old woman from California, were airlifted to a Denver hospital.
The family released a statement:
“Today we lost a great man, father, son, and brother who always stood up not only for his clients but for what was right. We are all shocked and saddened by this tragic event and appreciate the outpouring of support. We ask for privacy at this difficult time.”
At one time Fegan represented some of the biggest names in the NBA: Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, Ricky Rubio, Amare Stoudemire, DeAndre Jordan and Shawn Marion.
Dan Fegan was known to have an aggressive style and would often try to force some clients from team to team. Fegan always did what he thought was best for his client and fought for it through-and-through.
