12 Strong

Photograph by 12 Strong cast. 12 Strong, a war drama film that is based on a true story, about Green Berets, or “The Horse Soldiers” as they were called. A team of 12 green berets was the first to be deployed after the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers on September 11, 2001. After being deployed for 3 weeks with their conditions of rugged mountains, really hot during the days and freezing temperatures at night they managed to complete their missions of taking down members of the Taliban that attacked our twins towers.

The movie cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Michael Pena, Micheal Shannon, Trevante Rhodes and Navid Negahban. Chris plays as Mitch the main the main character, Michael Pena plays Sam, Michael Shannon plays Hal, Trevante plays Ben and Navid plays general Dostum.

Senior Isaac McWilliams would 10/10 recommend this movie to anybody. “It was one of the best war movies I have ever seen. It was action filled. I especially liked when the soldiers would ride in on the horses, I thought it was pretty cool. The special effects and the accuracy of the movie really surprised me.” McWilliams stated.

The movie itself kept you on the edge of your chair. Every time our country was on the screen, it left you wondering if the soldiers were going to make it out alive, let alone the horses. The soldiers would ride in on the horses while the Taliban had tanks and huge missiles they were launching. However, the United States ended up winning the attack with everyone surviving, and only one or two horses being killed.
