Mike the headless chicken

Mike was a regular farm chicken at Lloyd’s Olsen Farm.. As usual, the season came to butcher the chickens. On September 10, 1945, one of the slaughtered chicken’s head was cut off, but 80 percent of the chicken’s brainstem was till attached.  A clot in the chicken stopped it from bleeding out. The family had noticed the chicken and decided to call him Mike. They kept him as their own pet on the farm. The family fed the headless chicken through his esophagus with an eye dropper. He survived an entire eighteen months.
