Coco’s family has a rule which was not to sing again but Coco taught himself to play the guitar, spending every free moment studying. Coco’s musical stash is discovered the day before his competition, and his defiance so upsets to his abuelita that she smashes Coco’s beloved guitar. Rather than give up, Coco on Dia de los Muertos steals Ernesto’s de la Cruz guitar, unleashing him to travel to the Land of the Dead.
