Student Advice to Freshmen

High school is a big part in our life. Most students as freshmen think it’s no big deal but it’s actually a very big deal. I think most freshmen just want to have fun and mess around because they think it’s cool and they don’t care about their education. I used to be that freshmen, I didn’t care about anything. All I wanted to do was ditch. Sure enough, once you get older, you realize how ignorant you were as a freshman.

As a freshmen I would’ve done multiple things differently, like not ditch and get more involved in school activities. Being left out and not really involved does truly suck because you only go through high school once in your lifetime. Might as well make it worthwhile and do things right. You’ll have time for all the other things later in life. Natalie Davis once said, “Stop trying to grow up.” Yes the quote is exact, stop trying to grow up and just be the freshmen you should be. Get good grades. Your credits do have a meaning as you become an upperclassman. Knowing one of my closest friends isn’t graduating with our class sucks. And she really does regret it. It’s not too late freshmen. Get it together before it is.

Don’t get into drama, get in less fights, and focus on better grades. As a freshmen many girls were drama queens and getting in fights. Don’t start drama or don’t be involved in it; it’s not worth it. Be involved in school activities. They can really help to keep you on track. Reach out to your teachers, let them know your problems or why you are falling behind. They are there to help. Show interest in your grades.

Just do what you have to do, don’t listen to those open mouths that influence you into doing things you’ll regret. Be the smart person and don’t let them take you down the wrong path because it will be harder than you think to get back on track. Freshmen- Be smart, be wise, and make smart choices.
