Story by Jose Perez and Gustavo Mandl
Weld Central High School has been busy improving since the late spring. All parking lots have been sealcoated and striped, areas of the roof that were damaged have been replaced, the baseball and softball fields have new lighting, and the bricks and windows that were damaged were replaced. But possibly the biggest change to the school is the new security procedure that has been implemented. The school doors are now locked from 8:15 am until 3:20pm, which requires anyone entering the school to be buzzed in by the front office. Visitors must be able to provide valid photo identification, and will be required to sign themselves in and out. Students with tardies (yes, even excused tardies) will be required to be buzzed in, sign themselves in, and take the pass they’re given to class with them.
