Weld Central High School’s Varsity football team is full of excitement for the upcoming season, as they crushed the Alameda Pirates for their first game on August 25, 2017. The Rebels took the home turf for their first game of the season with confidence and pride, wearing the colors that flood the school, right after the marching band played for the first time this year.
Keeping true to their successful season last year, the game ended with the Rebels dominating the game with a score of 35-0. Austin Inskeep, a senior football player stated, “It was a great game, and I’m glad that we won!”
The football game was not only a chance for our Varsity team to show their determination, as our dance team was also put on the spot during half-time. Due to technical difficulties, the dance team’s music could not be played, but that didn’t stop the dancers, as they performed their dance even with the lack of music. This missing piece didn’t hinder the performance, as the young women knew their dance well. With the dance team keeping the spirit up, and the band keeping everyone interested in their timely music, the football team conquered and dominated the game. “It was lit,” joked Kaleb Parker, another senior football player after the game was finished.
Congratulations to our Rebels! Let the rest of the season continue flooding the bleachers with the lively crowd that cheered on the win against the Pirates.
