Rebel Thunder goes out with a bang

Weld Central Rebels spring back from their loss against Sterling, taking their game against Platte valley with a 17-14 win!

AleFullSizeRender (1)_edited.jpgx Ries rushed for 24 yards caught a 4th down 4th quarter touchdown pass and had 9 total tackles including 1 sack. Jesus Borrego had 11 total tackles and ½ a sack with Reece Mettler.

With a 14 point deficit after the 1st quarter, the Rebels held on their defense, refusing to let the Broncos score in the 2nd quarter. In the 3rd quarter Taggyrt Moses caught a punt and ran it 50 yards for a touchdown making the score 14 to 7.

A fieFullSizeRender (2)_edited.jpgld goal put the Rebels within 4 points but a mishandled punt on their own 2 yard line by Michael McClure almost devastated  them. However Alex Ries sacked the Platte Valley quarterback on 4th down with 4:39 left on the clock in the 4th quarter. On a fourth and 12 , with 1 minute and 11 seconds left the Rebels scored a touchdown off of quarterback Bryan Gudka’s 37 yard pass, sealing the victory for the Rebels.
